Challenge and Competition Awards

  • Universities Challenge (University Students) - (in cooperation with the United Arab Emirates University)

    Within the framework of the activities of the International Government Communication Forum, and in cooperation with the United Arab Emirates University, this award is launched as a special three day challenge targeting university students from GCC countries.
    The challenge shall bring together innovative and creative students to compete in the design and presentation of new and distinctive creative projects. These projects include:

    • Design initiatives that contribute to achieving an important social return to reinforce positive interaction between government institutions and society.
    • Develop new services that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of institutional performance.
    • Establish digital platforms that facilitate interaction between governments and citizens and that helps to make services easier and more convenient.
    • The aim of this challenge is not only to honour the best project, but also to stimulate a culture of innovation and creativity among university students.
    • The challenge also seeks to develop students’ intellectual and practical capabilities, paving the way for them to become effective and creative practitioners in the field of government communications in the future, and in turn, contributing to developing and improving the government communication scene at a state level.

    Participation Mechanisms:

    • Participating students must form project teams that include members from various academic disciplines to promote intellectual and professional cooperation.
    • Work to formulate and develop innovative and practically implementable ideas that contribute to improving students’ skills and enhancing their creative and critical thinking.
    • Design and innovate programmes and projects aimed at developing effective communication mechanisms between individuals and institutions, with a focus on the efficiency and effectiveness of such.
    • Participants must demonstrate how their projects support excellence in university education and how they contribute to building an innovative future vision of government communications.
    • Develop projects by integrating modern communication methods and smart applications to ensure efficiency and interactivity.
    • Design initiatives that contribute to achieving sustainable development goals distinguished by their positive and tangible social impact.

    Adjudication Criteria:

    • Methodology - 20% - Evaluate the clarity of the goals of the proposed idea and the specific steps for their implementation. This shall include an estimate of the sequence of stages and practical planning.
    • Innovation - 30% - Evaluate the idea in terms of novelty and creativity. This includes the extent to which the idea supports individual and collective professional skills and the development of a future vision for government communications.
    • Sustainability - 25% - Evaluation of the idea in terms of sustainability and future visions for its mechanisms to ensure its continuity and development. This shall include assessing the long-term viability of the idea.
    • Tools - 25% - Evaluate how to use modern technology and applications to support and enhance government communication mechanisms. This shall include an appreciation of the integrity and efficiency of the tools used.
  • Artificial Intelligence Skills Camp Award

    The Artificial Intelligence Skills Camp (AISC) is a distinguished creative environment aimed at teaching and enhancing applied skills in the field of artificial intelligence for students and youth. The AISC will be held within the framework of the activities of the International Government Communication Forum and will focus on providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of the basics of artificial intelligence, its practical applications, and how to integrate them into daily life. It will also seek to teach students the application of artificial intelligence regarding the production and management of government, media, and service content, and provide them with the skills to produce various forms of media content, such as videos, texts, news, photos, short films, and animation. At the end of the camp, the jury shall award prizes for outstanding work and projects.
